Windchaser Ranch is part of an international effort to help them survive and flourish. Uniquely, it has made history by returning the Spanish Mustang to Spain after 200 years’ absence.

Who We Are
Windchaser Ranch is a small preservation herd, with the intention of returning the Spanish Mustang to its native land for the first time in over two centuries.
We began by bringing Lakota Windchaser – AKA Charlie – to a small piece of North-Eastern Spain. He was joined by two beautiful mares, Cheyenne Promise and Chinook Silverwind. Taking the unique opportunity to import Champagne High – an incredibly rare champagne-coloured stallion – from the USA, so rare he is the only one of his kind outside of America!, we created the beginning of a breeding herd.
History Made…
During the night of 19 May 2021, history was made: WR Chinook Caminando con Sueños (Walking With Dreams) – AKA Parker arrived. He is the first Spanish Mustang born on Spanish soil for more than 200 years.

Education
At Windchaser Ranch, the Mustangs live a natural life. They roam unshod across a varied landscape of terraced woodland, browsing on herbs and other wild plants to supplement their basic feed.
Our relationship with them is one of mutual trust and respect: horse and human work together to develop an ever-deeper understanding. This experience has informed us as we build a practice of ethical communication, which we bring to bear in work with other horses and humans.
The ReWild Your Horse Spirit and Horsesmith™ Programs are a direct result of living with and learning from these amazing horses.
